Csound is a sound design, audio synthesis, and signal processing system, providing facilities for music composition and performance on all major operating systems and platforms. Its use is not restricted to any style of music, having been employed for many years in the creation of classical, pop, techno, ambient, experimental, and (of course) computer music, as well as music for film and television.[Read more]

Announcing Csoundo — A Csound Library for Processing

I’m happy to announce the first ALPHA release of Csoundo, a Csound library for Processing. Processing is "an open source programming language and environment for people who want to create images, animations, and interactions." With Csoundo, users can explore audio with visuals, export f-tables to custom high resolution SVG graphs, and create custom GUI interfaces to their synths. Video of Csoundo in action can be seen here.

Members of the Csound community have reported successfully running Csoundo on OS X, Windows and Linux. OS X requires version 5.12.4. Linux requires special handling, see this Csound mailing list thread for details.

QuteCsound 0.6.0 Released

Hi all!

QuteCsound 0.6.0 is finally ready! QuteCsound has now come of age as it
recently celebrated two years since its first svn commit! This release
takes QuteCsound way beyond my original expectations thanks to the
encouragement, ideas and work from many users. This is another

editor with autocomplete, interactive widgets and integrated help. It
can open files created in MacCsound, and aims to be a simple yet
powerful and complete development environment for Csound.

and it is free software released under the LGPLv2 or at your option
GPLv3.

There are binary packages for Windows and OS X, and a source package
for other platforms.
