I think someone else posted this question but I didn't see a reply. Hoping someone has an answer.
I installed MacCsound on my MacBook pro under Leopard 10.5.6. I installed the PPC framework as instructed. Attempts to render get an immediate crash.
The weird thing is that I installed exactly the same stuff on my Tower at home under the same OS and renders go through with no problem.
Any help would be hugely appreciated. It'd be great if you could respond directly to my email.
Thanks!

…CsoundLib.framework
hello,
the problem's in the ~/Library/Frameworks/CsoundLib.framework (of Csound5.10);
exacly: MacCsound1.3 is not compatible with the some files contents in the sub-directory Opcodes (of the directory CsoundLib.framework) !
You test the MacCsound1.3 in this way: previous deleting (o dragging in the other directory ~Finder) all files contents in the 3 sub-directory: Opcodes (~/Library/Frameworks/CsoundLib.framework, etc…),
result in this situation:
1. MacCsound1.3: works!
2. but for example: Csound5Gui, or WinSound: no-work!!!
ef
Mac Csound crashes
It worked! Thanks!

…10 $ please!
but,
the solution is unorthodox!
MacCsound1.3 work with
~/Applications/MacCsound1.3b4/MacCsound.app/Contents/Resources/libMacCsoundOpcodes.dylib, (write in Ispector of MacCsound1.3)
and not with CsoundLib.framework!!! …of Csound5.10!!!
…can not fit!!! the files .csd not worked with Csound5GUI or WinSound… bah!
However my MacCsound1.3 in this moment write in Ispector: "work with Csound5.08 (float)!!!!!!!!!!!!!! …"
…incredible!

hello world!
…Another way to run MacCsound1.3 with Csound5.10 is to delete the files in the ~Library/Frameworks/CsoundLib.framework/Versions/5.2 and put-in the files contents in the folder ~Library/Frameworks/CsoundLib.framework/Versions/5.1.

hi!
…but, here's how he solved the problem of another crash Csounder:
"How to install CSound in OS X 10.4, along with two graphical frontends (one is MacCSound like, and the other is a Mac port of Winsound).
Download the CSound 5.10 package for OS 10.4 Intel http://downloads.sourceforge.net/csound/Csound5.10-double-Intel-OSX10.4....
Extract the file, and run the Csound5.pkg installer. Use either stuffit or at the command line, in Terminal, gunzip, then tar xvf
At this point CSound is installed, but the package doesn't set all the paths correctly. This can be fixed by making two symlinks in Terminal:
ln -s /Library/Frameworks/CsoundLib64.framework /Library/Frameworks/CsoundLib.framework
sudo ln -s /Library/Frameworks/CsoundLib64.framework/Versions/5.2/CsoundLib64 /Library/Frameworks/CsoundLib64.framework/Versions/5.2/CsoundLib
With those two paths created, all Csound applications will work, including the two GUIs installed in Applications->CSound 5 Frontends."
…What do you think all of you?
bye!

Re: MacCsound crashes
No offense to E.Francioni, but some of the above information is inaccurate (or at least hard to follow). Please read the following information instead which comes from the Csound developers who make the Mac OS X installers.
There is a bug in MacCsound that causes it not to work correctly with the Csound system installed by the Csound 5.10 installers. Please see the following messages from the Csound mailing list for suggestions from the Csound developers for how to get MacCsound working again.

I will study quietly and carefully make your way to relive yet MacCsound1.3 with Csound5.10.
For now, however, continued to work only because of my strategy: or replacing your 5.1 to 5.2,
but without being able to use when Csound5, Csound5GUI and Winsound ...

re-link…
Mr Kozar,
I'm currently working with Csound MacCsound and 5.10 (but in reality with 5.08 Csound float) after copying the contents of the folder 5.1 to folder 5.2.
But I ask you kindly to have an explanation of this passage that appears in:
http://www.nabble.com/Using-Csound-frontends-with-API-2.0-td23009755.htm...
>Also, rather than copying the opcode libraries from 5.1 to 5.2 (which will
>break newer front ends), I think you can probably get MacCsound to work by
>relinking the symlink at /Library/Frameworks/CsoundLib.framework/Resources.
>Execute these commands on the commandline:
> cd /Library/Frameworks/CsoundLib.framework/
> sudo rm Resources
> sudo ln -s Versions/5.1/Resources Resources
Only a few questions:
1. I realized that with the command from Terminal [sudo rm Resources] is deleted the folder / Library / Frameworks / CsoundLib.framework / Resources: then I wonder why this folder?
2. instead the following command from Terminal [sudo ln-s Versions/5.1/Resources Resources] creates a "simbolic link" to the 5.1 folder, is not true ?
3. These terminal commands to enable me to work with MacCsound, is not true ?
4. Resources canceled after then I will be able to use other frontends to Csound5, working with the 5.10?
The frontends will open?
5. Or will I have to make another re-symlink from terminal to work with frontends for Csound5 (Csound5GUI, Winsound, Csound5)?
Thank you very much.
