This was done in 6 hours - an assignement from Dr B's C sound class in July 2008.
The composition begins with 3 rushes of wind/sea sounding "Fat Pads" which become interrupted rudely by a pounding kick drum, leading into a regularly abnormal pattern. This piece is an interplay between hard driving rhythms and smooth flowing textures. After alternating through the exposition, the two opposites appear simultaneously..and at a crucial point in the work one finds the rhythm and melody/harmony switch roles, as the pads and synth sounds end up holding up the rhythm while the drums and percussion noises and sounds are interspersed and attempting to "sing" over the ever flowing pads and other synth textures/lines. I did run out of time after 5 hours 35 min and did not have enough time, so please excuse the lack of mixing/EQ-ing considerations.
All the sounds were from the C sound catalog, where i tweaked some of the different FM settings of the "Fat Pads". These sounds were then put into Peak Pro to create further, more usable samples. It was then used in the NN-XT in reason and rewired to Logic pro; please enjoy!

PS: i did happen to capture the silver prize for the international C sound Competition 2008 summer edition as i took home a SLIMJIM. For those of you that donw know what a slimjim is, this delicacy consists of a single stick of pepperoni and "real" cheese. go figure.
